A question for the ladies I guess:
Will self-tanning products stain (the lighter colours of ) latex? Or can this be washed afterwards? Or is it ok if you spray yourself a few days in advance?

We were wondering if it would be harmfull and would have a stained result. So do we have to prefer a nice white cleavage and back instead of a tanned one...

Thanks

I was wondering if it was possible for the display image :Linear Mode to go in the opposite direction. so that the first post of the thread is on page on and on the top, and not at the bottom on the last page. im used to that system and not this so its very confusing, lol.

Me and dawnamatrix designs are putting in a last minute latex order from 4D rubber in the UK (http://fourdrubber.com/) and are welcoming others to join in from the USA and canada.

This is focused mainly for the USA and canada people who need sheets of latex as getting 4D rubber over here tends to be a costly thing when your going in on it alone! 4D rubber offers a special cheaper price list for USA and canada clients that order in bulk.

Normally I try to give everyone more advance notice but unfortunately the deadline for this order will be January 25th as we need the latex in for the fetish flea coming up in new england soon!

a Quick break down of how it works and the prices:

It's a co-op order so you can get a minimum of 1 meter if someone else is ordering that color as well. The minimum for each color is 5 meters, Me and dawnamatrix will be covering all the basics and some fancier colors so if your unsure feel free to ask if you only need a yard or two of a color. We only order in .33 and .45 thickness so if you need a different thickness you will have to email me to find the price as I dont have it on hand.

4D ships fast so the latex is expected to arrive 1 week after monday the 25th, and everyone's meters will go out a day or two after that. There no packaging fee or any stuff like that, you pay exactly what the price breaks down to and it costs us, thats what a co-op order is. USA clients who order in bulk get a different and cheaper pricelist than listed on the 4d site, this is the price list we are going in on.

the final price per yard is calculated with the shipping from the UK included.
exchange rate is 1.71 pounds on the dollar (from bankofamerica.com where the funds will be sent from)
and your final total will have +2.9% + $0.30 added (google checkout fees)

Original list prices for USA
£7.95 per meter .45mm regular and semi-trans colors
£5.85 per meter .33mm regular and semi-trans colors
£6.77 per meter .33mm vibrant colors
£7.60 per meter .33mm pearlsheens colors

After shipping calculated in, final prices per meter in USD:
$19.38 per meter .45mm regular and semi-trans colors
$15.79 per meter .33mm regular and semi-trans colors
$17.36 per meter .33mm vibrant colors
$18.76 per meter .33mm pearlsheens colors

Contact me at latex_nemesis@yahoo.com which what colors, thickness, and how many meters you would like.

I take google checkout from my latexNemesis.com merchant account or you can send a money order if you priority mail it in time for monday. (you wont have to pay the +2.9% + $0.30)

Please feel free to drop me an email if you would like to be notified we do another co-op latex order :)

Interested to hear anything about recommended types of paint, brands, length of time to dry, durability, methods, whatever really.

Thinking about applying decoration to latex with a brush or even with a spraypaint. Any help would be mucho appreciated.

My attention was drawn to the robot in the movie-classic metropolis by Fritz Lang (1927) by an article in a Dutch newspaper stating that the actress who played the role had been cast in something called Plastic Wood. After some searching this appeared to be only for the making of the suit, see the quote below from http://www.michaelorgan.org.au/Metrod.htm, but it still is a very early total enclosure-suit with a clearly erotic connotation. Not of rubber, but still to be considered as a great inspiration for total enclosure-ist up to now. And still a very nice design: would be great if one of the latex manufacturers could remake it in rubber....(but probalbly too much copyright isuues etc...) well here is the quote:

"An accident helped us. A workshop making architectural models gave us decisive assistance unintentionally. I went there because of another job. My attention was drawn to a little cardboard box labeled: 'Plastic Wood - trade sample' - a postal parcel. This 'trade sample' - not interesting for the workshop - was given to me. One trial brought the proof straightaway - the material for our 'machine creature' had been found. 'Plastic wood' turned out to be a kneadable substance made of wood, hardening quickly when exposed to the air - allowing itself to be modeled like organic wood. Now it needed a procedure that was not very pleasant for Brigette Helm - namely the making of a plaster cast of her whole body. Parts resembling a knight's armour, cut out of Hessian, were covered with two millimeters of the substance, flattened by means of a kitchen pastry roller. This was then stuck onto the plaster Brigette Helm, like a shoemaker puts leather over his block. When the material hardened, the parts were polished - the contours cut out. This was the rough mechanism of the 'machine creature' which made it possible for the actress to stand, to sit and to walk. The next procedure - furnishing it with detail to create a technological aesthetic. Finally - cellon varnish mixed with silver bronze and applied with a spray gun - gave the whole it's genuinely metallic appearance, which even seemed convincing when looked at from close range. The work took many weeks however. In those days, films were carefully prepared- and thus the realization of a piece of work unusual for a film like this one was ensured."
What should I do about the face of the hood? Full face or open Face?

Radical Rubber versus 4d Rubber

Hi fellow rubberists, I am in a dilemma with regards to latex sheeting.

I have used 4d latex sheeting for many years and have never had any problems with service or shipping to New Zealand.

However, I came across Radical Rubber a wee while back and really loved some of their latex colours. And, they are slightly cheaper than 4d.

Sooo...I ordered a Swatch of colours from them over a week ago. I received an order number plus a confirmation e.mail.

I also asked them their shipping...

I also asked them their shipping prices to New Zealand. They said they would get back to me.

Over a week later, still no monies has been deducted from my bank account for my Swatch Order and I haven't heard back from them at all. Le sigh.

I have heard from some people on FetLife, that sometimes they send out incorrect orders and also faulty latex batches. Some say the latex is difficult to glue ?

My partner said to me this morning that if Radical can't even send out a mere Swatch Order 'Hasstle Free' then what happens when I order over 100 metres of latex sheeting from them ?

Today, I feel that it may be easier and safer to stay with 4d, for a better, prompt service and pay the extra for the latex sheeting ?

I don't have alot of money and would hate to waste my money on an inferior product.

Okay friends....I need some serious feedback here about Radical Rubber, the service, the product, pro's and con's etc.

Is their latex sheeting easy to work with ? easy to glue ? Are the colour's consistent ? Do they sometimes mess up orders etc etc etc.

This is the first post I have done on the IAR in many years.

I am in a quandry and need serious feedback from fellow rubberists here.

Thank you, and have a great day.

Stephanie.

A random thought crossed my perverted mind and I wanted to bounce it off the rest of the Rubber Room (I am off the meds right now).

I know there are vendors and makers that do latex jeans, and I figured that you could do Daisy Duke Shorts (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Daisy_Dukes) with leather maybe, demin is a given, but what about latex?
