I don't know if this is a real health and safety issue but i couldn't find any where better.
Here is a video of some one setting a latex dress alight.

It's rubber - it burns. Well I never! What a waste. Haven't these guys ever heard of e-bay?!
Yes, rubber burns. Have you ever seen a tire fire?
Back in '92, The Crypt had a shipment of latex shirts stuck in customs. They wanted to see a sample of the "fabric", and it's safety certification. Bob managed to get the shipment, eventually. But I've been wondering since then what could happen to the import market if the government decided to start treating fetish wear the same as other clothing.
So it burns - so do most things, check the video of the nylon coat. Fleece jackets disappear in seconds when near a flame. I really can't imagine the flammability of latex clothes would be an issue for anyone, it's probably more fire-resistant than most fabric.

If that video was shown in real time, then burning latex would offer very little danger to the wearer. It seems that there'd be plenty of time to snuff out the fire, or else take off the burning garment. The flame took quite some time to get going and even then showed a rather narrow band that would be easy to smother.
Did ya put the cat out?' 'I didn't know it was on fire.'

I would think that you have a greater danger from cigerette burns melting throw the latex than and out and out fire like that. Always remmeber fire is not a toy.

I'm really not concerned about this... yes latex can burn, but so do most fabrics. It's not like it went poof engulfed in flames...
Do you love your spouse?
Then protect them from the danger of fire! Make them wear latex instead of nylon!![]()
