Reminds me of a friend from my air force days, other guys would come looking to borrow his steam iron because ,so he developed a method of saying that he needed 20 pounds if anything happened to it, which was 10 pounds that it cost to buy and 10 pounds to replace it.

We are trying to get our latex bussiness on the road, so have been generous with lending our latex for advertising and photo shoots, every time the clothing comes back something is ripped or dammaged.
So as was suggested we now take a full price cover for the articles taken and charge 20% of the selling price to hire our gear, it is amasing now only the serious hire the gear.
It has come to this after being used and no advertising was ever done promoting our gear.
The serious generally do give us a plug, and it is nice when that happens, professionals do not rip you off and pay.

As time goes by you learn your lessons, recently at out local fashion week where all the top fashion designers show their collections, we were asked to design and make 3 dresses for one of our top designers after she came and saw our clothing, so I made the dresses from my design and they were submitted with the promiss of on screen advertising at the show, when the show started there was no on screen advertising for us, then the models came out onto the ramp one by one, my item dress got an ovation and later was said to be the best for the whole week, I got no credit at all she stole all the glory and she had never seen latex clothing before, now is named as the Latex Queen, so you see how you can be conned by someone that seemed genuine.

But the upshot from that is the word did get around to the advertising community and we are getting hires for clothing now, she in turn has shot herself in the footand if she gets orders cannot impliment them because she screwed up.

Honesty is the best pollicy in the end.

I don't know about photography, but at the army we had an extra insurance that we paid into, covering stuff we destroyed (like cars, tanks, houses, etc.).

the big surprise is how many people in the fetish business - or alongside it, as you say - seem to need to rediscover this for themselves, as painfully as possible. I guess either you're an honest person, or you're not...
