    Default -----TROUBLE SHOOTING CATSUIT PROBLEMS-----

Just a word of caution when it comes to catsuit zippers and eros bodyglide!

I was slipping on my suit the other day and managed to get lube on the zipper. When I pulled the zipper up, the clasp slipped out of my fingers and the zip shot down trapping the top tip of my foreskin in the zipper!!!!!

After screaming like a girl, I tried to get to the lube to ease myself out of the zipper, only the have it jump down and trap the area I believe is called the meatus which is the area either side of the opening in the centre of the penis (Japs eye?). My pain level shot up about 3000% then the zipper dis-lodged it cutting a few mm of skin off.

It bled for a while (less than I though it would) but Christ! did it hurt!

Still hurts from time to time but is healing at a remarkable rate.

So the message? Always try to get a suit with zipper covers!!!!!

A trick is to slip your finger under the zipper pull to separate the zipper from the skin. Slide you separator finger along as you either pull closed or open the zipper. This will prevent the flesh from being caught into the teeth as it closes or the pulling device if you are unzipping.

Another trick with zips and tight fits is to try to pull the zipper AWAY from your body as you close or open it.. giving as much space as you can to prevent the zipper from touching the skin as it is opened of closed. Of course for really tight situations this is not easy to do because all the force of closing pulls the zipper against your flesh.

Pulling it away as you open of close also keeps hair from getting ensnared in the zipper's teeth.

Well, yes indeed. Penile injuries are nasty things -you certainly discover how many nerve endings you've got down there! And I agree, Eros has it's risks, and not just from zips - I can't use it here because we have wood floors, not carpet. Too much risk of slipping up.

There's a side-point you raise, though, which isn't so obvious: if you are wearing a piece of gear so tight that the zip-puller gets away from you at speed, then it's too tight! You're very close to losing the zip, or having a panel rip open, once it's that tight. Even if you had had a zip-protector behind that zip, once the zipper runs away that fast, it's going to damage the protector and then you are stuck with an expensive repair.

I've heard it said by a few UK designers that they don't like doing overseas mail order, because all too often the person receieves the garment and immediately rips it, or sends it back as "too small": this seems to be a common mistake, based on people's idea that they "want it tight".

Please, people: if you want it tight, don't order it smaller: order it THICKER. The sensations of a thicker-gauge, properly-sized catsuit are if anything much stronger than the rather risky proposition of a teeny tiny, extra-thin number.

I remember early days buying a pair of zip-front bermudas - a size too small so they would fit tight. They did. But the zip was always the weakest link and would - as you describe - run away at speed if not managed properly. (Luckily it had a guard strip behind!)

However, Doc makes the valid point that to get that tight embrace is best done through a thicker guage latex, form-fitting, rather than a thinner, undersize garment. It's better to invest a few extra currency units today than to buy cheap and regret it!

As I have bled like a stuck pig after zipping up, I always take great care and am wary about wandering hands!

Men are not really suited (groan) to tight fitting suits around the privates, and there seems to be a universal problem here. Suits should be tight and ripplefree, but mens appendages need freedom.

Lately I have had a preference for a removable 'cod-piece' pouch, which apart from the 'display' aspect, means that my privates are outside the suit, makes access easier when visiting the loo etc. For full coverage, a suitable C&B sheath is used. The only point about the access hole is that it has to be at the right height for comfort, otherwise there will be chafing and soreness after a period - a bit like the tiny feet syndrome in forums elsewhere.

    Hi

I bought a pair of zippered leggings from Westword Bound and had a similar but not as extreme prob.

Plan to install a zip guard before wearing it again.

Not to mention it was drafty

The zip protector doesn't always work either. Have had a couple of nasty incidents where that got caught up along with various parts of my nether regions - not nice!

The problem with those holes is, people are different diameters, to put it mildly. A zip is adjustable, whereas holes aren't. I like the codpieces too (so long as the suit is heavy enough that the press-studs don't pull out when an enthusiastic partner has a grab), but there is no doubt that a bit of engineering in this area works wonders. Expectations had a style they did for a while where there was a genital bulge, even when the xip ran through that area - but I've not been able to get other desingers to have a go at copying such a feature...
