    Health Benefits from wearing rubber?

Just reading another thread on total enclosure and sensory deprivation, I am moved to suggest that - in the short term at least - such activities are benificial to the health.

Not that I have ever enjoyed my fetish to that extent, being almost a soloist, but I feel that one of today's great threats - STRESS - can be greatly reduced through a couple of hours shut away in latex.

Anyone agree or see a different angle?

    Gord.

    Hi Gord

I completely agree with you about relaxing in latex. I find that when i dress in latex i am relaxed and less stressed.
When i remove my latex and return to the normal everday life i am less stressed and my skin feels soft and smooth. I have to dress on my own as like i have said before my wife does not have a fetish side.
I think that when dressed in latex its like shutting the outside world away and im just in my own little world.

I suspect the feeling of relaxation and health may be the result of the release of tension which builds.. much like sexual tension / frustration is relieved by sex... rubber "tension" is relieved by rubber play.

I suspect if you took the metrics of the body before and after the "rubber experience" you might discover things like lower blood pressure...

But the same is true after sex... and how many rubberists dont mix sex and rubbering? Most I suspect. Also consider how one's attitude toward an experience can promote a feeling of well being. If you like doing something... it makes you feel good. This is not rocket science.

It should be noted that all this "sexual" type energy is being expended and often without the spousal unit's presence... So one partner may be receiving the benefits whilst the other pays a price.

    What say you?

Probably a win-win scenario! My wife enjoys retail therapy whilst I enjoy rubber therapy!

From time to time I feel a real NEED to dress in rubber. I have no idea of my body's metrics at or before that time, other than to say they are crying out for that rubber caress. Sure, once a session time-slot is available, then anticipppppation heightens the adrenaline and speeds everything up. Once ensconsed in rubber, to the perfect degree, that great feeling of relaxation overwhelms and provides the feel-good factor referred to below.

With or without subsequent ejaculation, the session of rubber enclosure will cause immense relaxation and slowing of the body's vitals, taking it somewhere below the stress levels of pre-session. Therefore, I continue to promote that wearing rubber has a positive benefit in reducing stress levels and promoting health.

In tody's world, we have learned to live with stress (yes, there's good stress and bad stress), but we are subject to higher levels of stress than ever before and need more effective outlets for it. I propose dressing in rubber for a short while (at least) will provide that much-needed window of opportunity to obtain that stress relief.

    Anyone agree?

    Gord

Whatever the "effect" of wearing rubber is... it is clearly very individualized experience. If you did some sort of "blind" study by grabbing some random people and popping them into rubber suits... you might find some like it.. some hate it... some have no "reaction". For those who like it... it may have a "health" benefit like reducing stress... or maybe it is some which is erotically stimulating... and as erotic tension can lead to stress reduction... one could argue this is a health benefit.

I see it more like the way a substance addict relates to their "drug of choice". There is a craving.... described by Gord... kinda... and then there is a dose...the "experience"... and the craving is replaced by a feeling of well being. The refractory period will give way over time to craving and so on.

Some people see this dependency as a crutch.. others see the "high" as something "positive". When the addiction does not destroy one's life... social intereactions and so on... people live quite successfully with managed addictions. When the addictions "take over" it can destroy not only the addict's life... but those around him (her). Rubber fetish can be like an addiction and can have a negative impact when "out of control" just as easily as it can have a postive "health" effect. It really depends on the individuals involved and how they deal with this "craving".... whether it is a positive life affriming experience... or a negative self destructive addiction. No?

Default Psoriasis care rubber suit? hmmm

So i remember reading somewhere that patients suffering from this disease were sometimes perscribed into rubber for a few hours a day, something about premoting sweating, i really don't remember. My questian is, anyone else ever heard of this, and how can i get my medical insurance to buy me a rubber catsuit, any suppliers. I know there are a few doctors on here, so it'd be interesting to find out what the rubber is actually supposed to do to cure the psorriosis.

There was mention of this in a previous incarnation of the Forums. As I remember, the writer was going to follow up and report back. Never heard anything more. I, too, would be interested to know of any additional information

A little googling and I found this. link It looks almost like the $15 vinyl suits you can buy at sporting goods stores. Just a little more refinded elastic parts. It states it can be prescribed by a doctor for treatment.
