Just by way of an update, I've moved on to using the large cans of Marabu Fixogum Rubber Cement ann apply it either with a small art paint brush or a sponge brush. It has worked out very well and I would heartily recommend this brand of rubber cement for its ease of purchase, use and result. I had a tear in the latex fabric bit of a pair of leggings which rapidly split the other day but (after the shock, disbelief, tears and anger) I decided the garment was salvageable. I started to try and peel apart the seams, thankfully for the quality of the glued seams, it was incredibly difficult to peel the seams apart. Had to really work at them to get any grip on a bit of loose latex so that I could pull the seams apart.

So, if you are having trouble getting hold of the Bostik glue, Copydex or just want to give latex clothes making a try with the minimal investment then grab some rubber cement and give it a go.

After failed attempts with many adhesives I took a trip to my local bike shop and bought 5 tubes of inner tube repair cement; Halfords do them as well.
Make sure the rubber or latex is thoroughly clean and using masking tape on the reverse side (stops it curling) then mask the outer perimeter of
your joint. Apply glue with an artists paint brush or Q tip; let dry, et voila !!!!
